The Cliftones are the brain child of one Mr. Diedrich Jones. Their International Sound started radiating out of Cincinnati in the early 2010s when Mr.Jones return to his home town after stints in Austin and on tour with a number of national acts, including Steel Pulse, Pato Banton, Don Carlos and more. His hometown as it turns out provided a great home base to launch The Cliftones. Cincinnati, with it’s rich and very diverse place in music history, with the likes of King Records, its famed Symphony , and even Jones own uncle Nelson Slater whose 1976 album “Wild Angel” was produced by LOU REED, provided the spark needed. This melting pot of sounds allowed for Mr.Jones’s unique vision of modern reggae music to come together with an incredible array of talented players…and the band took off!

Since their inception The Cliftones have eight Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, including Best Live Band, and are consistently rank as one of the best bands in the region with the likes of rock & pop powers Foxy Shazam & Walk The Moon. They’ve played coast to coast, including stops at a number of the nations best reggae festivals, as well as with The Wailers . In 2016 The Cliftones released their debut album “Enemies Scatter” on Rebel Sound Records. Enemies Scatter charted on the iTunes Reggae charts immediately. Jones and the band toured the record extensively, and are currently working on its follow up.
